Nearly Christmas!

There's just one day to go until we finish for Christmas! Rob has come back to visit for a nice cup of tea and a moan and I've caught up with most of my work too, something I never thought would happen.
I'm still not an Adsense millionaire but hey ho World of Win4now is on the first page of listings now so it's surely only a matter of time before there are numbers in front of all those zeros.

In case I don't have chance to write again tomorrow...

Merry Christmas to all our Win4now users!

Don't forget to check out Win4now on the 1st January for a load of fantastic new competitions including a family holiday to the Algarve and a mystery admirer surprise.

In the meantime be sure you've entered these two new ones...

A week on...

Well it's been a whole week since I've updated this blog and since then there have been highs and lows...
It was the Win4now Christmas do last Friday which meant we got to leave an hour earlier so we had time to put our slap on. I bought some new make up (£30 worth) and a new frock. Rob said it didn't look like I'd spent £30 on make-up and John said my dress made me look like a nurse - what a bunch of meanies! It didn't matter though as by 11pm I was at home with my head in the toilet being very poorly indeed.

Rob and Hua have moved next door and Helen has moved this side. Hua says there's not enough tea being made next door so I think she misses us. It's been so busy recently that it feels like it should be a Monday in August not a Friday afternoon with just over a week to go until Christmas!

Xmas4now may have ended on Win4now but it doesn't mean that we have run out of competitions - oh no, we've had a recent surge of new prizes and someone's got to win them!

20 hours of AA driving lessons
Nintendo Wii
A kid's giraffe TV and DVD player
A 15 trip around Peru
A trip to Kenya

Party time!

Rob and Hua are still here and they may even be staying here until moday now. I've even emailed Steve Wright twice but he's ignoring me and it doesn't look like he's going to say farwell and best wishes from win4now.co.uk.

Uh oh Rob and Hua are moving now... I have to go and reluctantly help :-(

Bad news in the Win4now office

It's the end of an era in the Win4now offices. Competitions, emails, question blocks just don't seem to matter anymore...

Rob and Hua are moving offices.

Yep, they're both ditching us all and going to the office next door. It's all the more poignant as the quiz is on now and as of Friday it just won't be the same again. Although it might mean someone else can answer the questions.

So, I ask anyone who has a farewell message for Rob and Hua to leave their goodluck and goodbye comments below.

Rob's bottom lip is now trembling...

New Competitions

I've eaten my lunch already and I'm still hungry.

I'm not here to tell you about my delicious cheese salad sandwich with no egg or mayo that I've just eaten, as it's new competition time.

If you like drinking beer and watching football whilst spending argos vouchers with a monkey in your back pocket then it's good times for you at Win4now.

New competitions this month include...

A monkey (stop looking for the RSPCA's number - it's 500 in cash!)
A beer making machine (why go out to the pub when you can create your own - minus the sticky floors.)
A trip to Barcelona to watch Barcelona play Real Madrid (apparently that's a bee's knees of a football match.)
And 300 of Argos vouchers (there's nothing to say about Argos other than their strange Christmas Wish advert on the TV - why doesn't the Dad just go straight to Argos instead of climbing up to nick a star?)

So if you fancy some of these prizes or some of our current Christmas prizes featured in the festive Xmas4now category you know what to do!

Free cash from Win4now

If you visit Win4now regularly you will know that we give 250 pounds everyday in our Daily Cash Prize. No one has claimed this prize for a while, even though all our members have to do is log-in and see if their name appears on the front page of the site.
We have many people claiming that they've won but unless their name is under one of the beautiful David Bailey worthy portraits of staff members on the site then they're not a winner.
I decided to update the images for the prize as we were beginning to look a little weary. Martyn in design created a lovely cheque but as you can see it just doesn't have the impact of a big wad of notes.
So this is an exclusive picture just for you readers of the blog.
This is my shot where I look more like a teenage boy with bad hair than a 25 year old woman.
Hey-ho, I guess that modelling contract is as likely as someone claiming the Daily Cash Prize.

Spelling Shmelling

Joel Comm, internet marketing machine says that to improve content on your site, you need to improve spelling. Well maybe this is where I'm going wrong.

I met Joel (.) Comm at an internet marketing conference in Las Vegas earlier this year. Yes me and my colleague Helen were sent to Las Vegas for 10 days to learn all we could from the Americans. Joel was a very nice man who I insulted in the lunch queue when he asked if we were from London. There is more than one city in the whole of the UK we said, Joel laughed and wandered off to a table far, far away from us.

Anyway, I think Joel's right spelling is important and if I read something that's spelt wrong it drives me mad - people are paid good money to make sure things are spelled correctly right?
So why can't I spell then?
Why do I have to get everything spelled checked by my computer and then by lovely Joy on reception. Even then every so often I get one of our members pointing out that they would like to 'Refer a friend' and not 'Refer a fiend'.

My argument is that I have a degree in English not spelling.

Pizza and undies

Win4now, the home of life saving prizes... imagine you are housebound this spring due to the mountains of crisp, sparkling snow on the street outside.
Fear not though, all you need is Win4now to save you from starvation and dirty underwear. We're giving away a whole season worth of pizza which equals about 2 large sized pizzas every week for three months and there's no need to wash your smalls as you could also win £250 to spend at Agent Provocateur's online boutique. Although if you're a man you might just use them to mop up all those pizza stains...

The Oldies

No I'm not talking about Rob and Kerry, I'm talking about Radio 2.
Regular readers of the blog will know that in our office we listen to Radio 2 and the best bit of the day is when Steve Wright shuts up and plays the oldies in an afternoon. To maybe get some sneaky advertising for Win4now we've decided to submit our own list of oldies for Steve Wright to play. So far on my list I have 'Here I go Again on My Own' from Whitesnake and that's it, Rob is busily writing a list but the sooner we submit it the sooner Win4now could be broadcasted across the whole of the UK.
If you have any suggestions for our selection of Oldies please add them!

Every had a day of doing so much that nothing gets done?
I need to go on some kind of time management course. Last week me and Liam went on an assertiveness course so we could strap on a pair in the work place. I have no evidence to share with you if this has worked or not - I think I'm a bit meaner though. I learned that to be assertive is to negotiate, to be aggressive is to punch someone and to be passive is to be a doormat. I am currently inbetween the doormat and slamming the door in people's faces, so I suppose that's progress.

Trick or Treat!

Well it's Halloween, double trouble toil and trouble and all that. According to a man on the radio Halloween is a menace that leads to vandalism well here at Win4now it leads to eating lots of cakes and sweets and a couple of members dressing up as Halloween horrors.
Thelma baked a beautiful spider cake which was mighty tasty and Ruth and Kieran have dressed up... please add your comments and Happy Halloween!

I have a doughnut sat on my desk and in a moment I'm going to make Team One a cup of tea, the Oldies are on Radio 2 and it's a Friday!
Kerry and Adele are discussing underwear, Kerry bought a stick on bra to go to America in but they didn't work because it was too humid - that's the tip of the day today! Rob doesn't understand the conversation and it's gone down to a whole new level of crudeness that can't be repeated.
Me and Adele keep getting told off for singing to the radio - it's only because Rob and Kerry are older than us. Three and a half hours to go!
Be sure to check win4now next weeks as we've got some fab competitions coming on including thermal clothing (not underwear or stick on bras), the famous Christmas turkey and a trip to New Zealand. I'll post the links when they go live.
Adele has just had a spam email from a Russian woman wanting to marry her - nice.

Steve Wright's big quiz on Radio 2 has just been on, it's the best thing on the radio all day. Me, Ads and Rob turn the radio up and see who can answer the questions quickest. Everyday someone comes in and talks all the way through it about something they think is more 'important'. Who cares about targets and competitions and site content when you know the answer to 'How much degrees is one angle on an equilateral triangle?' I couldn't get me words out as there was someone yapping in my ear.

Ah well, the good news is that I've just had a hazelnut hot chocolate and it's raining outside which means I have an excuse not to go running tonight so I can go home and sit down some more.

Also, we've had a new competition go live today - a trip to a health spa to be preened and pampered. If you win, take me!

16:46

Good God I'm so bored. I've had enough of making cups of tea, I should have my own tea maker. There's limescale in the water cooler and now I have little white flakes in my plastic cup.
I still have no fishes on the fish board, what have I got to do to get one of those golden pieces of paper full of praise? I've even been telling people they should appreciate me more but no one cares.
I've written one new competition today though it's not live yet. I've been reduced to writing competitions to win a Christmas Turkey - never have I tried harder not to use the word 'succulent' in a paragraph of writing. I wanted to use an image of a living turkey as people should be properly acquainted with that they're going to fill their faces with for a month. I compromised and ordered an organic one instead so at least it had a good life.
I'm still waiting for new Christmas competitions from Sales, I've got to get something better than a 6kg turkey when other sites have trips to Lapland and a golden partridge in a fricking golden pear tree.
If anything better comes in I shall let you know...

It's been a while...

Firstly, we survived the rumoured Leigionares disease only to have a new scare the following week when a house opposite our offices blew up in a gas explosion. We were evacuated (past the said house) and to a building (nearer to said house than our office is) for our own safety, where at 10:30 am we all had a pint each and went home. Not bad for a day's work.

As it's taken me such a long time to update this there are many, many, many new competitions on Win4now at the moment. Here are a few...

Free Christmas
Harvey Nichols Vouchers
Suzuki Swift Car
Family Tree Research Pack

Mass panic has entered the Win4now offices...

Kerry and Rob were feeling a bit sickly after lunch and have now convinced themselves and the rest of the office that Leigionares disease is infiltrating our offices through the air conditioning system.

The latest from Linda in personnel is...

"Here are the symptoms of the disease you all suspect you have I would advise that all who have symptoms attend the doctors asap and let personnel know the outcome." The list of symptoms followed and I think it's safe to say the only disease in the office is the horrific it's-nearly-the-weekend-and -I-want-to-go-home.

Design Martyn's response to this was...

"A bird sneezed on me this morning and a little bit of bird snot entered my nasal passages could I have bird flu?"

He's not convinced we're all done for and neither am I. I just wish it was half past five and I had a nice whiskey and coke in my hand.

I've just had my lunch and ate way too much so now I'm ready for a snooze.

I'm still trying to finish the world's longest survey, if the Guiness Book of Records reject it after I've finished there will be tears. I'm onto the section on families now and there's really only so many questions I can think of to do with Grandparents and long lost relatives.

Helen had a dream that Adele was pregnant last night, apparently she was very upset about this. Adele's not pregnant but it sounds like an ace way to get a few months of work.

There's a debate on the radio about Steve Irwin's death, a woman's just rung up and said he deserved it - a bit harsh I think.

09:41

Today I have to try and finish putting together the longest questionnaire in the world. Have just walked to the water cooler to avoid doing it. Then I went to the loo. There is very little to do for distractions in this office, I've not even had any junk email to delete in the last fifteen minutes.
Ken Bruce is on the radio so I'm listening to Faith No More instead of listening to him and writing this instead of doing real work.
I was hoping I'd have made enough money on AdSense by now to abandon my job and steal all the profits from my blog. So far I have made zero.
Maybe I will make my millions from writing the questionnaire, if I live long enough to finish it that is and if anyone is bored enough to answer all the questions. I've been doing it for a month and the questions are not coming easily.
But it's Friday and I have three places to be tonight and I intend to drink my way to all three of them. Adele has a premeture hangover and a headache so I've just turned Ken Bruce up, ha!

I don't like Mondays

Because they're rubbish.
As I've already mentioned Monday's are not my thing. Rainy, chilly, August Monday mornings are even worse. We now have air conditioning so at least there's a good reason why the weather outside has cooled down. Why does the weather know these things? How can it know that as soon as we have the facility to cool down in our offices it decides not to bother being warm anymore?

I've noticed a less than positive response to this blog from many of my colleagues at Win4now - apparently the funniest thing about this blog is that it's obvious I don't know what to write about. Well, it's true.

So let me know what you want on this blog... office gossip, best new competitions, up coming changes to Win4now?

Let me know and there might even be a prize in it for you!

No mortgage for me

I've never been a fan of terrifying grown up things such as mortgages but I was fed up of paying someone else's mortgage off for them with my rent each month so I looked into acquiring the biggest lump of debt in my life. Unfortunately (or thankfully) I can't get a mortgage because I'm too poor - I blame my Win4now wages! So I am destined to rent my grubby house with toxic carpets for the near future.

To make things worse Paris Hilton is on the radio and the twenty foot drop outside the window is now looking very appealing.

But while I'm contemplating 'The Jump With No Bounce' check out these fantastic Win4now competitions whether your mortgage free or cash free or fancy a bit of investing.
It's worth remembering that more people are declaring bankruptcy now than ever before so can you afford not to try and get your hands on some free cash?
Win your mortgage paid for 2 months
Win £1001 in cash
Win £500 in cash
Win £5,000 in shares

Competition Tip from Win4now

It may seem obvious but by entering competitions with more than one prize you stand a better chance of winning!

Try this one to win one of ten photobooks which would make the perfect present for someone or a special way to treasure your memories.

We also have our regular competitions to win stuff that might not be glamorous but sure is useful. Getting insurance can be a real pain, whether it's travel or car break down, so click here to win it for free!

Try our Birthday Prize as well, all you need for this one is to have a birthday so that's covered already! Every month we give away 15 prizes of £20 and if you tell us your friends and families birthdays, they could win too!

Not a winning combination...

Monday morning's are bad things. The shadow of a relaxing weekend lingers over until lunch time making people refuse to face up to work. Tempers are short as everyone wishes they were still at home, in bed.

Yesterday I earned my self a blue fish pinned to the fishboard (blue fish on the board = bad, good fish = good) and all because of my right flip flop. By lounging around and having a stretch and generally being a bit snoozy I managed to unplug the power lead from the back of my computer 3 times.
This meant that everyone in the office (all 32 people) had to stop what they were doing, close everything down and wait for the computers to be rebooted. 3 times we all had to do this and all thanks to me.

Today I'm keeping my legs tucked away and hiding behind my monitor.

Win4now Weather Forecast

31 degrees is liquifyingly hot - my fingers are sticking to the keyboard and my bottom is sticking to the seat - Win4now workers melt in hot offices!

What makes it worse is that the technician's office across the hall is so cold some of them are wearing coats while in our side wearing nothing is becoming very tempting.

I heard on the news this morning that today could well be the hottest July day on record, so I suppose it's safer inside than out but a nice dip in a pool or a pint in a shady beer garden.

If your inside today as well, why not enter one of our Super Summer competitions and stay out of the sun!

Win a thirst quenching Beer Tender
Win a deluxe Water Filter
Win a Cocktail Class for two
